Free University of Bozen-Bolzano is a public university located in Bolzano (also called Bozen) in the autonomous province of South Tyrol. Founded in 1997, the university is well known for its multilingual education system, where many programs are taught in English, German, and Italian. It offers a wide range of study programs in fields such as economics and management, computer science, engineering, design, education, and environmental sciences, and attracts students from many countries due to its international academic environment. For the Nepalese community, the university has gradually become a destination for higher studies, with several Nepalese students enrolling particularly in master’s programs related to technology, management, and environmental studies. Nepalese students in Bolzano often build supportive networks and cultural groups that help newcomers from Nepal adjust to university life, find accommodation, and adapt to living in Italy while maintaining their cultural connections.
